In September 2023, we had the pleasure of playing at the wedding of Ben and Hannah Thomson, a lovely couple who tied the knot at the stunning Fingask Castle in Perthshire. It was a memorable night full of joy, laughter and dancing.
Fingask Castle is a hidden gem in the Scottish countryside. As you drive along the narrow hedge-lined lanes, you are greeted by the splendour of this historic venue. The castle is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens where topiary trees and stone statues add a touch of elegance and charm. The views from the hill are breath-taking, especially at sunset.
The wedding ceilidh was held in a tipi marquee with a huge dancefloor. The atmosphere was festive and lively, with guests of all ages joining in the fun. The staff, headed by the lovely Cairo, were incredibly attentive and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed, from drinks to cups of tea.
Ben and Hannah were so much fun to work with. They had a great sense of humour and a lot of energy. They made a grand entrance to the marquee, dancing their way in with style and grace. They were also very good dancers, leading the way in the ceilidh dances and encouraging everyone to join them.
This is what they wrote to us afterwards;
“We both wanted to thank you all for playing on Monday. You guys rocked! We’ve had so many people telling us how much they loved the band and we’ll definitely be recommending you to our friends”.
It was an honour to be part of their special day and to share their happiness. We wish them all the best for their future together. Thank you for choosing the ‘Rock Ceilidh Band’ to provide your entertainment!
