A ‘rock-ceilidh’ band?
In 2014, our fiddle player and leader, Mary Gristwood, had the bright idea to combine her two favorite genres of music – rock and trad – and formed her first band – the Bass Rock Ceilidh Band . Since then, she has evolved her music, concepts and ideas and now fronts the Rock Ceilidh Band – a leading fusion of the rock riffs we all know and love with a contemporary interpretation of traditional music designed to ensure everyone of all ages and abilities wants to get on the floor and start strutting their stuff!

A leading fusion of the rock riffs we all know and love with a contemporary interpretation of traditional music designed to ensure everyone of all ages and abilities wants to get on the floor and start strutting their stuff!
Since then, our fiddle-led four-piece Rock Ceilidh Band has been delighted to play ceilidhs throughout Scotland’ Central Belt making sure their parties are truly electric!
With a lineup of fiddle/caller, bass, electric guitar, and drums, we give full instructions for all our very easy ceilidh dances using fun-filled banter to ensure everyone can enjoy the dancing.

Along with our unique ‘rock-ceilidh’ sound, we pride ourselves on our top-class standards of ‘calling’ (giving instructions for) the dances, as well as our ability to encourage as many guests onto the dancefloor as we can.
