On Saturday 25th August 2023, we had the pleasure of playing a ceilidh for Cerys’ 30th birthday party at the Victoria Halls in Dunblane. Cerys’ loving husband, Chris, and her Dad had organised the whole party, from the decor to the beautiful cake, and it was clear that a lot of love and thought had gone into it.
The Victoria Halls is a stunning venue, with a large main hall and a smaller meeting room. The main hall was decorated beautifully, with table decor and balloons in Cerys’ favourite colours. The tables were set with lovely displays of balloons and candles.
Cerys’ cake was a work of art. It consisted of a 3 and 0 topped with beautiful sculpted models relating to the surprise holiday that Chris had booked for Cerys’ big birthday as well as Cerys’ favourite hobbies.
We started the ceilidh with the Gay Gordons and the Dashing White Sergeant dances and finished with the Strip the Willow with a few rowdy dances in between. The guests were all very enthusiastic and got involved from beginning to end.
Chris and his band also performed at the party. Chris is a great guitar player and his band included Liv Dawn, an incredible singer who has a voice like an angel. She performed a mix of covers and sang an original song – the guests were all mesmerised by her performance.
The party was a huge success, and everyone had a great time. We would like to thank Chris for booking us for Cerys’ wonderful celebration. It was an honour to be a part of her special day.
